The next meeting of
the Lower Mainland Treaty Advisory Committee (LMTAC) will be
held on:
Wednesday,
July 26, 2000
6:20 p.m. - 9:00 p.m
2nd Floor Board Room, GVRD Building
4330 Kingsway, Burnaby, B.C.
The
meeting will feature a presentation on the future of the BC
Treaty Process and the role of local governments in treaty
negotiations by Michael de Jong, Aboriginal Affairs Critic and
Deputy House Leader for the BC Liberal Party.
The LMTAC represents 23 municipal governments and 3 regional
districts and was established to provide input into
negotiations with five Lower Mainland area First Nations:
Katzie, Musqueam, Squamish, Tsawwassen, and Tsleil-Waututh.
LMTAC acts as a full member of the British Columbia
treaty negotiating team and is the largest Treaty Advisory
Committee in British Columbia.
